Slotnick, Canter Schneider Memorial Group - Framingham
Quality Granite and Memorial Crafters since 1910
Welcome to the Slotnick, Canter, Schneider Memorial Group web page. We have created this site to help you make the difficult and unique process of purchasing a memorial as easy as possible.
Slotnick, Canter, Schneider Memorial Group is a full service monument and granite shop located in Everett, Massachusetts. The business was started in 1910, priding itself on designing, creating and installing memorial products in all cemeteries in Eastern Massachusetts. Starting as a small, local family business, the company, now in its forth generation, services countless families with bronze work, cemetery lettering, granite markers and monument work. As a full service shop, our staff works on each memorial here in our own facility, as opposed to many other memorial shops that “farm†out work and have it created for them, acting only as a middle man, losing much of the control over the process and final product.
Most cemeteries do have cemetery-specific rules and regulations. Having serviced the greater Boston area for so many years, we are familiar with almost all of the area cemeteries, allowing us the ability to better guide you as to what would be allowed in your cemetery.
Please feel free to review our process, facility and the many different types of memorial products and styles available.
Besides our memorial work, we also offer many different granite products, such as benches, signs and dedication items. We work closely with various groups and organizations creating signage and walkways for their various for profit and non-profit projects.
About Us:
Slotnick, Canter, Schneider Memorial Group is the combination of S. Slotnick Monumental Works of Everett, Chelsea and Dorchester and the Canter Monument Company of Chelsea.
S. Slotnick Monumental Works, Inc started on the grounds of the Fuller Street Jewish cemeteries while their main competition, Canter Monuments, was located on Everett Avenue and had that famous sign only seen from the Tobin bridge “drive slow, we can waitâ€. Wait they did; and combined, the two companies would eventually handle the largest majority of local Jewish memorial work in all of greater Boston. We still still handle this volume today, under one roof, with a reputation for service, quality, and care to families that have returned generation after generation no matter what denomination.
"Our philosophy is simple; every memorial is created, from start to finish, as if our staff is creating a memorial for a member of their own family."
The firm was established in 1910 and is presently owned and operated by the fourth generation of the same family. We have marked graves for literally thousands upon thousands of families over the years; completing memorials for many of the great rabbis and community leaders of greater Boston. Our goal, equally as simple as our philosophy, no one should have an unmarked grave. Every memorial is designed, created, and sandblasted in our own facility in Everett, as we have always done. Our staff is capable of creating a memorial in English, Hebrew and Russian.
